Japan. Praying for calm.

This morning when I woke up, I asked if Chadwick could bring up our Japan images in Aperture because I wanted to finally blog about our trip- one year ago.  Then he told be that Japan was hit by an earthquake, aftershocks and tsunami- I went to bed early last night and missed the news.  I have a very strong connection to Japan which I won’t get into at this moment, and of course, my heart sank quickly.

Originally, this blog post was going to cover many aspects of our three week journey through the beautiful country last March.  There are so many sides to Japan and to its people.  For now, I’ve selected a handful of images that make me feel the calm, loving, peaceful, serene side.  The Japanese people are some of the most giving and deeply caring people I’ve ever met- even to complete strangers.

Now, it’s our time to give and care.  The images flowing across the media are shocking and the situation is likely to become more difficult before it gets better.  The Red Cross is accepting donations to help.

If you cannot donate, please send your thoughts and prayers to the people of Japan.
