DreamGroup Planners Promo Shoot

We’ve worked with these wonderful ladies over the years and have seen their creativity, passion and energy transform their clients’ visions into reality. We love how the DreamGroup team brings the love, not the drama. This shoot was so special. Hayley Miller brought out all the best features in these beautiful women: when a makeup artist pulls off “natural” this perfectly, they are PURE GOLD- and that’s Hayley- every time, without fail.

We scouted a dreamy spot to showcase the energy & beauty of owners Geneve & Sarah and fellow principle planners (left-right headshots) Samantha, Corinne, Kiren and Alicia! Both Geneve and Samantha are expecting babies following wedding season and they are looking radiant!

The tide (with swift, stealth force) started to come in during our shoot and what started as an ethereal grassy field, ended as a swamp 🙂 Laughs abounded and I made good use of my pink rain boots! Sarah’s heels took a bath but, as with any great planner, all of the ladies were able to roll with the punches and have a blast!

Thanks again Camille & Chadwick for capturing the DG spirit.

Samantha, we had such a great time with all of you. I know the feeling, I much prefer being behind the camera, but it’s nice when you can relax and enjoy the experience- that’s the best thing we could ever hear! We wish you (and Geneve!!) a wonderful and comfortable time over the next few months as you prepare to welcome baby into the world! xo camillle (thanks so much for all of your kind comments, ladies!)

Blogging Weddings and The Complete Story

So here I am, sitting at the computer late at night, trying to get a blog post together in the middle of “wedding season”. I’m in love with the wedding I’ve been working on: Stephanie & Nathan. Thought I’d just ‘quickly post the wedding’. Guess what? I’m absolutely paralyzed.
“Chadwick, I’m down to 137 images selected to blog- I just don’t know what to cut, what to show. Ahhhh.”

I suppose it’s a happy problem, but it’s really getting to me this evening. I cannot post a whack of epic portraits & details and skip the dozens of intimate, moving moments – and those totally fun expressions that Nathan made all day- seriously, those expressions have made me smile throughout this whole edit! His mother shares the same expressions, it’s uncanny! The way Stephanie and Nathan hold each other, the way they have fun in every moment. The way these two amazing people- New York City architects of all things- are willing to just get outside and get drenched in a Whistler downpour- Vera Wang and all- just for fun and PURE romance.
The way Stephanie’s sweet sister Jennifer was the epitome of selfless caring on her sibling’s biggest day. How Stephanie gazed up at Nathan so many times with adoration in her eyes, you just can’t beat that look. I’m getting long winded now, I know. It’s their slideshow that will allow them to feel their day intimately all over again. It’s all so personal, really.

I just don’t want to miss a thing.

So here’s one shot for now, that’s all. Stay tuned for your Complete Story, Stephanie & Nathan. I wish you could join us in Vancouver for the first viewing 🙂 xo c

Hi guys!
We had a lot of fun working with you on the wedding in Whistler with Nathan and Stephanie! I am so looking forward to seeing the moments you capture….I check every couple weeks!

admin - July 30, 2010 - 11:42 am

Mrs. Lam, your family really came together to support Nathan and Stephanie’s celebration- that day was such a love fest, wasn’t it?! As Nathan and Stephanie have chosen to keep their beautiful wedding images for their friends and family’s eyes only (and we respect that choice), you won’t see any more images up on the blog 🙂 Glad I didn’t go huge on the post- I must have been ‘paralyzed’ for multiple reasons lol! They’ll receive their private slide show any day 🙂
Enjoy reliving the memories, and hugs to the whole family! xo camille

JONETSU BESPOKE ALBUM: LORRAINE & ILLYA

Lorraine & Illya are an incredibly stylish and soulful couple.  It’s been so fun getting to know them over the past year!

We’ve been inspired by their high level of respect for each other, killer sense of humour and detailed involvement in the planning of their big day- so personal and perfectly orchestrated by Sarah at Dreamgroup.  The spectacular and intimate day had their ceremony (led by Lorraine’s brother-in-law) at Celebration Pavilion, and included a touching candle lighting to remember Illya’s Mother.  Lorraine was stunning as always, and Illya could not have made a more chic suit choice- I always feel under-styled next to those two!

Goldfish in Yaletown was the ideal setting for their reception, with a custom wine selection, seafood stations and mouth-watering meals: top notch in all respects.  As always, it’s their personal wedding album that tells the story best (please view the slideshow below, and enjoy their first dance song, “Sweet Lorraine” by Frank Sinatra: how appropriate!).  L&I we love you guys, you know that- and we hope that the race went well!!!  🙂

Their ceremony was so touching. Meeting eyes, overwhelming emotion.

I love this gentle moment Chadwick captured crouching in the bushes.

Incredible party at Goldfish. Cake by Ganache- oh Gary, you never miss!

captured to perfection. LOVE.

Mark Epstein - October 21, 2010 - 5:11 pm

Sorry, too ashamed to reveal my out-of-date website compared to your work which is just wonderful; both an inspiration and slightly despair inducing as I think ‘will I ever reach that level?’ I’m shooting more and more weddings & events but nowhere near pro standard yet.

Wonderful work.

JONETSU FAMILY SHOOT TEASER ALERT!

Documenting the B. family has been one of our greatest pleasures over the years.  From their engagement through two gorgeous babies, Leanne and Dan have become friends.  This was such a special shoot, brand new Tanner is incredibly charming and like his big brother Brody, a supermodel from the start 🙂

Some of my favourite shots from this session are of BB holding Tanner for the very first time- the look on his face brings tears to my eyes.  But that’s for later.

Here, a touching moment featuring Tanner surrounded by his adoring family.  Tanner, we love you already and your baby mohawk is so very awesome.  xo c

JONETSU MUSIC ALBUM DESIGN: FATHER’S DAUGHTER

It was so nice to get the call from Father’s Daughter  (Sonja, Emily, Rachel and their Dad, Ed Fast) to work with them on the concept, photography and design for their new (JUST RELEASED!)  Southern Gospel style album, “I’ll Follow You”.  Having seen our past work with musicians, they were eager to produce fresh artwork that would truly reflect their special group spirit and energy!  This album was recorded in Nashville and the production value and song choices are brilliant and meaningful.

I have to say that this is one incredible family.  Their passion and commitment to their faith and to each other is so inspiring.  Ed Fast is Abbotsford’s Minister of Parliamant and he and his wife Annette have FOUR gorgeous, talented daughters.  Read their web bios on their site, and buy their album to hear the new Father’s Daughter sound.

Classic, elegant, fun, approachable and BRIGHT was my interpretation of the Father’s Daughter group brand.  This violin has been in Ed’s family for a very long time.  It’s so fun incorporating valued family mementos into shoots.

Sonja, Emily, Rachel, Ed and Annette, we’re so happy you guys love the results- we had a blast with all (five!) of you!  Chadwick & I wish you all the best sharing your new creation and look forward to meeting Carmen one day!

Some stills of the album, Digipack, matte printing. Beautiful. (thanks for sending it to the studio, Annette!)

Classic, genuine group photograph. Father's Daughter.

Fresh, backlit head shots. Warm sunlight and natural smiles, my favourite!
